Tasting the History and Culture of Korean Teas (Gong Fu)
Tuesday, August 27th | 6-8 pm
Korean tea culture is one deeply rooted in Buddhism and enlightenment. Many of the earliest Buddhist temples in Korea are said to have birthed the tea culture that now permeates the country. Similar to many eastern cultures, the styles are dependent on the processing of the tea leaves and range from low oxidation, in green teas, to high oxidation, in fermented dark teas, each of which is used to aid in easing the mind, as well as the body. Come taste and revel in the experience of teas from Korea as our Tea Sommelier, Lily Colonna, discusses the diverse historical background that has led to such a rich drinking culture in Korea.
