Young Teas: Only Using the Bud
Tuesday, June 25th | 6-8 pm at The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse
The botanical makeup of tea is a special one that allows it to stand out against other plants in the race for human consumption and propagation. Even internal to the tea plant’s own structure we find such a range of botanical compounds that causes some parts of the plant to be more valued than others, as they are higher in caffeine, sugars, minerals, and other nootropic components that all aid in mind and body well-being. Join Tea Sommelier, Lily Colonna, as she focuses on a range of teas from around the world that use the youngest part of the tea plant - the bud - and taste the similarities and differences that occur in each style of tea, based on region, culture and history.
