Taiwanese tea makers originally began crafting Ginseng Oolong by rolling the powder into the leaves, however, after the product gained popularity throughout China it began being produced by dusting the leaves after processing. Now, the styles can be visually identified with the Chinese selections having a powdered coating around the tea balls (Lan Gui Ren), which rinses off during the first steeping. The Taiwanese style, with the ginseng on the inside, allows the leaves to be steeped multiple times with a consistent flavor.
An almond, yellow colored liquor is introduced by a rich, nutty aroma. The palate is complex, and floral with a buttery finish. Top notes of jasmine are followed by midtones of cashew with a creamy resolve.
