Our friend David Lee Hoffman is said to have discovered the Meizhan green tea cultivar and we are proud to have this early spring tea in our collection. This rare varietal is surprising and delightful. The beautiful pale green long rolled leaves give off a malty and sweet cream aroma that continues once brewed. The bright cup tastes of butter and sweet bread with a hint of cut hay and finishes light on the tongue with no lingering aftertaste. This tea will quickly become a go to green tea to be enjoyed in the early afternoon.
How to Brew this Tea:
Amount of Tea per 6 oz water – 1 heaping teaspoon - 3 grams
Water Temperature - 170-180º
Time of Steeping - 1-2 minutes
