This is a highly popular Chinese Oolong made by the skilled farmers in Anxi province. Ti Kwan Yin – “Iron Goddess of Mercy” - is one of the top 10 most famous and revered teas in China. While the traditional form of this tea is more heavily roasted, more often in the western world it is somewhat greener and less oxidized. The sensory profile is heavenly with lighter floral fragrances and a legendary ‘hou yin’ sweet aftertaste (most noticeable in the back of the throat). The tea farmers compete each year and their annual Ti Kwan Yin entries are judged by the world’s most knowledgeable tea experts. Our tea buyers chose this specific Oolong to meet exacting specifications of what a supreme quality Ti Kuan Yin Oolong should represent; a somewhat lighter style of firing that allows the delicate, floral, sweet notes of the tea to come through exquisitely. Full of complexity and floral richness, this Oolong selection is more complex and broad than our standard grade.
