Yixing teapots, known as Zi Sha Hu in China, are among the most celebrated teapots in the world. Named after the small city of Yixing in Jiangsu Province, these teapots are crafted from a unique clay rich in iron ore, which gives them their distinctive natural coloration. Fired without a glaze, the porous clay absorbs the essence of the tea over time, gradually seasoning the pot and enhancing each brew. Traditionally used for steeping specific types of oolong teas, Yixing teapots are valued for their ability to deepen flavor with continued use. This stunning green clay teapot, with a 220ml (7.4 fl oz) capacity, is a beautiful example of this enduring tradition and an ideal companion for mindful brewing.
Hand wash with hot water and gentle scrubbing only, avoiding soap or detergents to preserve the clay.
