This is an all natural Jin Xuan Oolong, or Milk Oolong. Jin Xuan tea is one of the most famous and recognizable Taiwanese tea selections. This cultivar was developed over a 21 year period and is now known for its naturally rich, creamy, buttery flavors and aromas. Pair this rich selection with scones, Devonshire cream, and lemon curd for an indulgent treat.
This selection is grown by the Huang Family on the Bamboo Mountain in Nantou County at elevations over 3,000 meters (9,850 feet). Jin Xuan tea grown at high elevations tends to exhibit more pronounced rich, creamy characteristics. Produced using natural farming techniques and no additives, the leaves are harvested in April and November, rolled into tight balls, oxidized between 10-20%, and delicately roasted.
A golden, yellow cup is introduced with rich creamy aromas. The palate is full and smooth with toasted notes, ending in a light, lingering finish. Top notes of umami move into midtones of toasted rice, and sustained end notes of cream.
