Break apart the packed leaves with a knife or pick. Rinse the leaves for a few seconds with hot water, then pour out the water. Next, steep the leaves in hot water until the brew is strong enough. Steep as many times as desired, until the leaves lose flavor.

A pale almond colored brew has a delicate, earthy aroma. The palate is light, and nutty with a light, lingering finish. A touch of umami leads to woody mid tones with light, floral endnotes.
