The cultivar has been grown in the region since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and has been served to nobility since the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912).
The dry leaves are very long, thing, and flattened with a dark, forest green color. They have a lightly spiced, fruity and floral aroma. Once brewed, the leaves retain their color and shape, while giving off a rich, toasty, sweet, grassy fragrance.
The liquor is pale yellow, with a delicate, rich aroma. The palate is sweet, rich, and toasty, with a ripe finish. Grassy top notes lead into mid tones of toasted rice, spice, and granite, ending with a light fruity end note.
